Debates pertaining to global migration are changing. Several countries have taken measures to check the inflow of immigrants, others are encouraging immigrants who either contribute via investments or special skills and talents. In an article for Modern Diplomacy (link below) I examine how countries are coming up with innovative ways to make their Golden Visas — simplistically referred to as long term residency by investment visas -- more attractive. Several countries are now taking steps to ensure that the Golden Visa includes other categories — beyond investors. The US has also introduced a “Gold Card”.
